Implementation would be a modified version of #7 using the latest version of https://github.com/thegreenwebfoundation/co2.js.
- Carbon estimates would use the Sustainable Web Design model.
- Estimates would not include the assumptions that the model makes about caching and return visitors.
- This would effectively give a carbon estimate for the first time a page is viewed by a visitor/cold cache visit.
- As a result, the carbon estimates would be higher that those generated by a tool like Website Carbon Calculator.
@zachleat is it okay with you if I raise a PR to reintroduce a carbon estimate to the leaderboard?
