Glad you love it : ).
This is kind of subjective. I personally think the latter looks nicer, and proportional-width is expected if a user wants to add or read some friendly text in the description field. The advantage of fixed-width is that characters are align-able, which may seem nice with stmm0 - stmm3 but otherwise doesn't seem very useful property to have, given what can be put in the description.
I think you can however select some text you want, bring up the Fonts panel (command-t), search for a monospaced font like menlo, and use it. Oddly for some reason I can only get this to cooperate sometimes.
Or I could add a default Font option somewhere. I suspect someone will also dislike the code injection text view from the debugger also using a standard proportional font.

I'll agree that it's definitely subjective; It's funny you mention the font panel technique, because I often find myself using that trick on a few other apps too. The problem with it is that it only affects the current view you happen to be using, which can be slightly annoying. The default font option sounds great though since I presume it to be mostly global.
Fixed width font or not your app is awesome :)
