That's one issue that's tripped up several people when trying to build the app on Windows, and task :app:buildStaticWebviewAssets is the step it would fail at.

Because this app is now in maintenance mode, though, as we build the new Zulip mobile app in Flutter, I'm afraid we won't be able to spend time helping debug.

(If this were a codebase we still intended to spend much time developing, we'd probably replace the rsync logic with something else — rsync works great, but setting it up has been a recurring pain for people on Windows, and we're not actually using it for that much.)

Great, and thanks for confirming that solved it for you.

I've also just added an entry for this in the troubleshooting section of our instructions (93aeee9), so hopefully that'll help the next person who runs into this to find the solution more quickly.
