Our goal is to keep it simple. We will most likely stick with bar, line, pie, and donut charts and just extend the functionality and stability of these charts. One thing we have been working on recently is removing the SnapSVG dependency and writing a small keyframing animation widget. Also removing the dependency on jQuery.
