Can't scan PDF417 about zxingify-objc

I second this issue. Using the demo app, I can't seem to scan any sets of licenses that have PDF417 bar codes. It just doesn't go through. I have no problem with UPC and QR codes, though.

The latest version of ZXingObjC contains the new version of the PDF417 scanner ported from ZXing. Please let me know if there are any specific PDF417 barcodes that don't scan which you think should.

Is it still considered Alpha quality? I need one that works like Manatee WOrks or RedLasers scanner. Those don't care about the white spacing around the barcode. The official protocol for PDF417 barcodes states there should be a large amount of empty space (like a border) around the barcode. Commercial scanners ignore this rule, because most companies that print barcodes don't follow that rule.

I suppose I would have to call it "alpha" in the sense that I only ported it recently, and also I mostly only ZXingObjC for QR codes myself. In general, it should be about as good as ZXing, which does need some white-space. I don't have enough experience to say exactly how it compares to commercial SDKs like RedLaser.
