canvas's Issues

Cannot add media to fresh canvas install

To replicate:

  1. Clone the 17twenty/canvas repo
  2. Install WAMP server 2.2a-x64
  3. Install Firefox 9.0b2
  4. Create an apache alias from 'canvas' to the local canvas repo
  5. Open Firefox and navigate to localhost/canvas

The background and + images show.

The + image pops up a window with no controls to add anything.

Drag and drop does not work: dragged files are added to php/files but they are not rendered.

OS: WIn7 Pro x64

Add BBC news integration

Perhaps rendering the page as a png and opening in an iframe to prevent people continuing to browse the web

UI unresponsive after resuming Windows

If Windows has gone in to sleep or hibernate mode (I don't know which), the Canvas UI is completely unresponsive after resume.

@bencrundwell reported that the problem disappears if the page is refreshed.

Consider listening for click or touch events and, if no objects on the UI have changed, there's probably something wrong so a refresh should be triggered.

Experienced on the Lenovo touchscreen in the Lounge.

Canvas: version unknown
Browser: Firefox (version unknown)
OS: Windows 7

Editing object names

It would be more intuitive if objects could be renamed at any point and therefore the user wasn't prompted to enter a name on upload

Grabbing videos from YouTube

Need to be in ogv or webm format due to browser issues in Firefox.

HTML5 version of YouTube now appears to be a bit selective on what videos it supports. We really need to find a reliable way of scraping decent quality videos as clipconverter and pwnyoutube just cant cut it.

Maybe a combination of CC and an offline converter (fmpeg?) would work for now? Otherwise perhaps a database queue of stuff to convert that we can service manually until its up and running?
