This is project towards improving the quality of OSM data in the South Bay as well as improving the community!

Mappers in the South Bay need to meet each other!

Thus we are listing issues of things to work on in the South Bay as well as steps towards creating a community.

What is OpenStreetMap?

OpenStreetMap is open data: Open Maps. you are free to use it for any purpose as long as you credit OpenStreetMap and its contributors.

A better OpenStreetMap will make a difference for tripplanners, mappers, planners, and businesses!

Current projects

• Import San José buildings and addresses from city datasets (requires JOSM)
• Fix mismatched San José road names between OSM and city parcel data (good starting point)
• Validate imported San José crosswalks and fill in missing crosswalks (good starting point)
• Add points of interest from street-level imagery (good starting point)

Completed projects

• Import San José sidewalks from city data
• Import San José crosswalks inferred from sidewalks
• Collect street-level imagery around San José with a DIY camera rig
