DCC Layout TODO List

General items:

• Need cars with the correct couplers or at least transition cars
• Would be nice to find a set of passenger cars to match the Silver Speed Loco. If not the Amtrak cars although newer are silver but need couplers and general maintenance.
• Need to install track buffers or some other physical barrier at the end of some of the dead ends to avoid floor collisions.
• Secure Loconet (It belongs to Scott but could fall from it’s current location.
• Test DS64 units for functionality prior to deployment

Notes:

• The N scale layout as you enter the room from the Catenary shows three peninsulas. The first is currently running DC. The next two are running DCC now. The final two in front of the large mountain at the back of the room pointing back at Catenary are also currently running DC.
• To simplify naming I am numbering each peninsula starting at Catenary. 1 is DC, 2 & 3 are DCC, 4 &5 are DC.
• To further aid communication and avoid misunderstandings I suggest we use the term Digital instead of DCC as it is too close to DC and can cause confusion to new volunteers.

Peninsula 2 TODO List:

• Add back the switch removed at end of table to create a double loop. If switch unavailable or temporarily we could just use a short two or three inches of track to do the same thing but limits choice.
• Repair or replace the bridge and track in the tunnel and the track joiners
• Repair or replace track going to Peninsula 3 in front of the bridge
• Clean track in the yards
• General clean up of the wiring under the table.
• General clean up of the landscape. Many loose items and damaged pieces in the foreground need to be removed, repaired, or repositioned.
• Repair the damaged hills in front of the bridge
• Repair the fisherman and his pole. Apparently, he had one too many.
• Paint or landscape the plastic supporting the turnouts
• Reposition the Industrial buildings. For instance the Loco Repair facility is not over a track.

Peninsula 3 TODO List:

• Reroute and secure Loconet cables currently routed through the metal work. They are getting damaged.
• Secure the dangling power drop wiring which is hanging down in to the moving rolling stock below.
• Repair the National Freight lines lighting. cabling broken
• Repair the dangling line near Girard Trust Bank in Bedford
• Repair the track near the farm. It has an odd jerk in the curve causing derailment
