Toolify is a single-page application that provides a collection of useful tools, including file compression (ZIP packing), currency conversion, and QR code generation. This project is developed using Angular for the frontend and Node.js with TypeScript for the backend.

  • Image Compressor: Compress images to reduce file size.

  • Zip & Unzip: Compress and decompress files using ZIP format.

How to Run Locally

To run Toolify on your local machine, you'll need to use two terminal windows. Follow the steps below:

Backend

  1. Open a terminal and navigate to the backend folder of the project.

  2. Run the following command to build and start the backend using Docker:

    docker build -t my-temp-app . && docker run --rm -p 3000:3000 my-temp-app
  3. An extensive API Documentation will now be served at localhost:3000/api-docs or https://bcnd.toolify.m1productions.de/api-docs/

Frontend

  1. Open a second terminal and navigate to the frontend folder of the project.

  2. Ensure you have Node.js and npm installed on your machine.

  3. Run the following commands to install dependencies and start the frontend in development mode:

    npm install
    npm start

The frontend will communicate with the local backend running on port 3000.

Accessing Toolify

If you prefer not to run Toolify locally, you can access it at toolify.m1productions.de or use our public Docker images available on Docker Hub:

  • Backend: alexinabox/toolify-backend
  • Frontend: alexinabox/toolify-frontend
