An alternative icon for kitty, the terminal.
A little CRT-style cat that is like a ghost of other terminal icons.
./build.shThis downscales kitty-crt.png (1024×1024) into an .iconset and runs
iconutil -c icns to produce kitty.app.icns. macOS only (uses sips
and iconutil).
Drop the .icns into your kitty config directory:
cp kitty.app.icns ~/.config/kitty/kitty picks it up on next launch. If the dock still shows the old icon, quit kitty fully and relaunch — macOS caches icons aggressively.
Alternatively, kitty also accepts a plain PNG. If you'd rather skip the
.icns step:
cp kitty-crt.png ~/.config/kitty/kitty.app.pngCopy the 256×256 PNG to your icon theme, e.g.:
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/icons/hicolor/256x256/apps
cp kitty-crt-256.png ~/.local/share/icons/hicolor/256x256/apps/kitty.png
gtk-update-icon-cache ~/.local/share/icons/hicolor 2>/dev/null || trueSee the kitty FAQ entry "I do not like the kitty icon" for the official word on all of this.
