BypassAnnoyances is a standalone Manifest V3 browser extension for Chromium and Firefox. It advances supported LinkShortX/UrlShortX redirect stages and reports sanitized progress through its Route Inspector interface.
The first release supports only these HTTPS hosts:
linkshortx.inurlshortx.iohindisink.comwww.hindisink.com
It does not request access to every website. It does not remove a signed gateway delay imposed by the site: a gateway can remain server-gated for about five seconds, after which the extension continues automatically when a safe next step becomes available.
Bypass decisions run in the browser. The extension has no telemetry, analytics, account, remote service, or remotely hosted extension code, and the project does not collect user data. On a supported route, the extension still communicates with that route provider as part of the page flow; see PRIVACY.md for the exact network and storage boundaries.
The manifests request:
storageto keep local preferences and, when enabled, up to 100 sanitized technical log entries;- site access only to the four HTTPS hosts above so the content script can read and advance their redirect-stage pages.
Technical logs contain only a host, controlled stage/action/result values, and a timestamp. Paths, queries, fragments, tokens, signed destinations, and form values are not retained.
Requirements: Node.js 20 or newer and npm.
npm ci
npm run buildThe build creates dist/chromium/ and dist/firefox/.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin a Chromium-based browser. - Enable Developer mode.
- Choose Load unpacked.
- Select this repository's
dist/chromiumdirectory.
After rebuilding, use the extension card's reload control before retesting. An unpacked build is for local development; the release ZIP is not directly installable as a normal consumer Chrome extension.
The Firefox manifest currently declares Firefox 142 as its minimum version.
- Open
about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox. - Choose Load Temporary Add-on.
- Select
dist/firefox/manifest.json.
Firefox removes a temporary add-on when the browser restarts. The generated Firefox ZIP is unsigned and is not a replacement for Mozilla signing.
Open a supported HTTPS route normally. The toolbar popup shows the current host, stage, action, result, and whether automation is enabled. Settings let you disable all automation, pause individual supported hosts, disable local log retention, or clear the extension's local technical logs.
The status is descriptive, not a promise that a third-party route is available. Provider markup, network errors, or the server-controlled gateway interval can leave a route waiting or produce an error.
Install the locked dependencies with npm ci, then use the repository scripts:
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
npm test |
Run Node unit, integration, policy, UI, and documentation tests. |
npm run lint |
Run ESLint over JavaScript sources and tooling. |
npm run format:check |
Check the configured code, manifest, test, and CI files with Prettier. |
npm run build |
Rebuild both unpacked browser directories. |
npm run test:browser |
Rebuild and run controlled Chromium extension fixtures. |
npm run validate:firefox |
Lint the built Firefox artifact with warnings as errors. |
npm run release |
Rebuild and create unsigned browser ZIPs plus SHA-256 checksums. |
npm audit |
Audit the installed dependency graph. |
Browser tests intercept the approved hostnames and serve deterministic local fixtures; they do not contact the production LinkShortX sites.
