README

Briefly

The script automates routine related to setup a directory for a new task. It includes:

  • creating a directories structure for a new task;
  • copying selected from the source directory repositories with their update (git fetch) and cleaning up.

How to use

Prerequisites

The original script assumes existence of the next directories:

  • ~/tasks - the directory, where task directories are created.
  • ~/tasks/code_review/repos - the directory, where repo directories are placed for copying from.
  • dzdo instead of sudo in copy_and_clean_repo.sh for root privileges in order to clean up the repo.

Configuration

In setup_task_directory.sh

  • change TASKS_DIR to your directory with tasks;
  • change REPOS_SRC to your directory with repositories for copying from.

FAQ

Why copying instead of pulling?

Because from my practice some repos can be so huge and difficult for pulling from the server for each task that it is easier to update it rarely in the source dir and copy it.

Further development

  • reduce output
