An AI-powered video production workspace. Describe the video you want, and the agent builds it for you — scene by scene, with your approval at every step.

Under the hood, clipwright combines Remotion (React-based video) and ManimGL (mathematical animation) into a single pipeline with local text-to-speech, brand-consistent styling, and platform-aware output. You don't need to know either tool — the agent handles the code.

Skills, tools, and agent instructions are managed by CAPA — a capabilities manager for AI agents.

How It Works

Tell the agent what you want — topic, audience, platform, duration, style
Review the plan — the agent drafts a scene-by-scene storyboard for your approval
Watch it come together — scenes are built incrementally, with previews along the way
Get your video — rendered to your target format and resolution

The agent reads your preferences from config.toml (brand colors, fonts, resolution, audio settings) so every project starts with your defaults.

Setup

git clone https://github.com/<your-username>/clipwright.git
cd clipwright
capa install

capa install installs the agent skills (Remotion, ManimGL, TTS) and verifies that the required CLI tools (Node.js, uv, FFmpeg) are on your PATH. Python and Node.js dependencies are installed separately:

uv sync
npm install

After installation, open the project in Cursor and start chatting with the agent.

Configuration

Edit config.toml to set your defaults. Everything here is inherited by new projects automatically.

Project Layout
