ODataValidation

OData validation tool. The rule engine validates an OData endpoint against the protocol specification.

Build & run on Linux / Mono

The original web UI (ODataValidator.ValidationService) targets .NET Framework 4.0 and depends on WCF Data Services (System.ServiceModel.Activation.ServiceRoute) and System.Web.Entity, neither of which Mono provides — so it does not build on Linux.

Instead, ODataValidator.ConsoleRunner drives the same rule engine headlessly.

Requires mono (and curl to fetch nuget.exe on first build).

./run.sh <url> [version] [format] [category]
# e.g.
./run.sh https://services.odata.org/V4/OData/OData.svc/ 4.0 json core

run.sh builds on first use. To build without running, use src/build-mono.sh (restores packages, builds the engine libraries + runner, and assembles the rulestore/, extensions/, and config/ folders next to the exe).

Defaults: version=4.0, format=json, category=core. Exit code is non-zero if any rule reports an error.

Windows / Visual Studio

Open src/ODataValidator.sln and build. This is the only way to build and run the web UI.
