Command line utility for converting a UV textured Wavefront OBJ to an adaptively subdivided OBJ with vertex colors, intended for 3D printing.
Run tex2vert --help for help.
-
Incomprehensible code
-
Questionable math
-
Probably buggy
-
Input is expected to be a Blender export
-
Must be manifold
-
UVs must be right-handed ("OpenGL")
-
Uses diffuse color for untextured meshes
-
Ideally pre-triangulated; cut N-gons into grid-like structures for best results
-
-
Output is non-deterministic due to multithreading, topologically and visually
-
Colors on UV seams are chosen by the first evaluated triangle
-
-
Output discards info irrelevant to 3D printing
-
Merges all objects into a single one
-
-
Output colors are encoded as nonlinear SRGB
