curl -L https://raw.githubusercontent.com/YWJamesLin/awesome_config/master/init.sh | bash

This will generate this awesome config.

wallpaper related

wallpaper path :

/usr/share/awesome/themes/customTheme/wallpapers
/usr/share/awesome/themes/customTheme/wallpapers_vert

If you don't put any wallpaper inside, you will only see a black wallpaper when executing awesome.
