[bug] Mount/Dismount for O.Post group - option not working

Issue:
Quadbike is difficult to move around the jungle, and sometime O.Post has to be there to be effective, the dirty workaround is remove wheels to quadbike.

[suggestion] move respawn from R key

It's very common that you respawn unintentionally because you hit R to reload but at same time you take a bullet.

I'd suggest Spacebar as an alternative

Each island has its own:
A) mission.sqm (the map)
B) description.ext (name and characters voices)
C) pic.jpg (picture for intro and also displayed on map)

[suggestion] CSAT

Situation:
Since 0.10 CSAT attack only after a certain amount of War Level allowing player to do his early business without avoiding main road because of CSAT vehicles roaming while they attack NATO.

Suggestion:

  • A) CSAT should attack immediatly the main island taking an outpost and a resource/factory/seaport. Then take a break until War Level rise
  • B) CSAT have carrier: allow a special attack to recapture an airbase in case CSAT are defeated too early.

Theory:

A) player might wanna deal with CSAT and attack a bit them instead of NATO in order to rebalance the Aggro too. If CSAT are on the main island there is more possibility for player to do so.

B) in multiplayer is easy to take CSAT island causing to an unexperienced group to miss the 3-way-fight that feature WotP in such a good way. The possibility for CSAT joining the island again at low war level allow the re-enstablish of theri presence.

The problem with the movement of objects in HQ, after the server is restarted, the HQ objects are near the point, which is designated as HQ on the map, their arrangement after load save is reset, the commander is forced to reposition them, but the (exactly the same) problem arises: objects can not be moved, they "allegedly" are far from the point (flag), although they are actually near (this does not always happen)

[suggestion] Attack - defensive infantry

Issue:

  • Some units manage to hide and they never get killed by attackers.
  • "RANDOMUP" in a nice UPSMON feature but it still has some weird behaviour with certain buildings or buildings that should not be counted as such (example the pier)

Suggestion:
Is it possible to change the "fortify" behaviour after a certain time? So, it's ok they hide at the beginning, but then they have to join the fight at some point to let the dice roll.

[suggestion] MP auto-server restart

When server hard restart, anyone can join, regardless membership right, and press "No" to the question "Load Previous Session" causing a campaign restart. Since autosave might be enabled, if for an hour noone realize and manage to restart we gonna have the campaign and progresses wiped.

I'll try to integrate the external membership and, if that file is found, then only members can push "No".

Issues:

  • Jet flying around cache and decache units quickly (regardless the sleep etc they do load the server)
  • Jet has nothing to really attack, defenders have just few vehicles parked and they don't get reinforcements so the jet gonna move around without a real purpose (well it can kill SDK vehicle moving around)

Suggestion:
During a NATO vs CSAT (or vice versa) attack there are jets flying around and i'd suggest to make them have a single run and then RTB.

In case jets were intended to just to show, then remove the spawning trigger and make them dogfight (so jet with air-air combat) with defenders jets which takeoff (even from another airbase, why not)

[Refactoring] All source code should be refactored in a object-oriented programming

For a better readability and maintainability of the project, the source code should implement various software design patterns and loose the procedural programming for an oriented-object one.

Example here (probably not functionnal as i started SQF yesterday)

Also as the code base is already pretty huge and refactoring all code at once is a no go, i suggest implementing object-oriented programming step by step.

[suggestion] Dynamic reward AI joining

Considered:
AI usage in WotP is fun and necessary, and there are situations like joining town and surrender.. it could be a player choice to accept AI joining on the fight or send them back to HQ

Suggestion

  • Supply Delivery: random group leader nearby get a random number of AI (~3) on completion
    basically civilians are thanksful and wish to join

  • Surrender: in case he join, he can become part of your squad instantly with his gears or go to HQ and become +1 HR.

This system will solve situation at beginning of the game where HR are low, make enemies surrender and increase your fireteam.

Disable Apex/Marksmen Weapons/Stuffs

Hey,
Many of my friends aint got the DLCS, so they cant use any default unlocked weapons apart form one arsenal weapon,
Also they cant use the 4wd Offroader

and like 50% of the loot is marksmen/apex loot :(
we added the FFAA mod so there is some variety, but i would like to disable all of them
