What is a Java Champion?

One of the best descriptions was given in the 2009 JavaOne Conference PDF:

"The Java Champions community was started by Sun at the 2005 JavaOne conference to recognize key influencers in the Java community. Java Champions are influential Rock Star presenters and Java technology educators, authors, and consultants; Java platform event organizers; and others within the Java technology ecosystem. For the third consecutive year, Java Champions have contributed to the JavaOne conference process as technical reviewers for paper submissions, have been recognized for their achievements, and have shared their thoughts about the state of the Java platform at their BOF sessions." Include in website a Try Java section <niceToHave>

It would be nice to have a section like "Try Java" or "Run Java" or some sort of equivalence to the embedded https://www.python.org/

Can Oracle employees be Java Champions now, too?

@aalmiray you recently joined Oracle, congratulations btw, but, doesn't that mean you have to "pause" your Java Champion status while you work there or has that changed lately?
Guess for @steveonjava it's correct again as he left Oracle ;-)

Which Country should be specified?

I was born in one country (before nomination), then migrated to another one (at the nomination), and then to another one again (after nomination). Which one should be used?

Rename master branch

Many organizations, projects, and individuals choose not to use the word master for their branch and switched to main as new name (see https://github.com/github/renaming/).
I think it would be a good idea to follow this in this repository.

Publish updated site after avatars are refreshed

The Avatars workflow triggers manually while the Site workflows triggers on every push to the main branch.
Avatars updates site sources but not the generated site.

There should be a way to trigger Site once Avatars completes.
Also, perhaps schedule Avatars to run once every week or every day to keep images up to date as much as possible.
