Nudge

Nudge is driven by the fact that being sedentary for extended periods of time is not healthy. In modern times, it's very easy to go hours sitting at your computer. Nudge tries to solve this by allowing easy creation and customization of "Nudges"/reminders that encourage you to do things at fixed intervals.

Development Status

Development of Nudge is on and off based on how much time I have. It's generally stable, at least on the Windows computer I use. It obviously has some bugs and issues, so feel free to make an Issue if you encounter anything while using that. Also feel feww to contribute to the development of Nudge!

nudge's Issues

Nav bar overlaps main UI on small window sizes

Editing a reminder and switching tabs displays time incorrectly and does not clear edited reminder

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Edit a reminder
2. Instead of clicking the cancel button, go to any other tab
3. Head to home page and look at the time of the reminder; it is displayed incorrectly

Additionally, going through the tabs DOES NOT CLEAR the reminder being edited. Returning back to the 'Create Reminder Tab' will still display the values of the reminder being edited

User activity detection

Add options to automatically pause a reminder after acknowledging it and an option to prompt the user to unpause a reminder if they are active at their computer for some time (e.g. 5 seconds).

First nudge changes size of nudge list

1. Create a new nudge
2. Delete the nudge
3. Observe the size change

Add option to display remaining time until a nudge is triggered

For example, if the time is 5:15 and the nudge triggers at 5:20, Nudge should display '5 minutes'

Add confirmation when deleting a nudge

It's easy to accidentally delete a nudge, so a confirmation modal may be useful

Add nudge templates

Allow easy creations of nudges from templates. For example, a Nudge that has a 50 minute interval with a list of exercises to do after that interval.

Make Nudges persist between app quitting

Nudge are deleted whenever the application is closed

Whitescreen when switching windows for extended duration

When holding down the up/down arrow to rapidly change windows, the window will eventually freeze and become an unusable white screen.

Add option to automatically pause Nudges after they have been acknowledged/triggered

A common use case of a Nudge is to encourage users to get up from the computer once the Nudge is acknowledged. Therefore, it is common to pause the Nudge once this happens. A QOL feature would be to do this automatically once the Nudge is acknowledged. This would also complement the activity detection feature in #28.
