A Rails application that allows a community of users to vote between two choices.

Ideation

ThisOrThat is an application that was created during the 2018 Viget Internship. ThisOrThat allows an entire community of users to vote on a poll of two choices. Users can create a poll and the rest of the user base as well as visitors have the ability to vote on the new poll. When the designated period of time for voting has completed, poll owners can view the final results and choose to accept the winning choice.

Development

• Frameworks: Ruby on Rails
• Libraries: Devise, AWS SDK, Capybara, and RSpec
• Languages: Ruby, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and jQuery
• Time: June 10th - August 10th 2018

Features

• Ability for users to create an account, sign into an existing account, and reset their password (Implemented using the Devise authentication gem)
• Ability for users to create their own poll and add images via file upload or link.
• Ability for users to comment on polls
• Ability for users to follow a poll and view their followed polls through the "Following" tab
• Abiliy for users to vote on a poll and the interim results will display (Implemented using AJAX and Javascript)
