Taking a long time to load about puttycyg

It looks like there is lots of fun stuff going on in your startup scripts
(/etc/profile, ~/.bashrc, etc.)  To test the minimal startup time without 
changing
your startup scripts, try running PuTTYcyg with command like "echo DONE" 
instead of
the login shell "-".

If PuTTYcyg startup is still not acceptably fast, some things which might be
affecting it are:

* Firewall software: PuTTYcyg uses a local TCP socket to communicate with 
cthelper
(the Cygwin program which runs the pseudo-tty).  Such software can slow the
establishment of this connection.

* Multiple CPUs: it has been reported (but not observed by myself) that 
PuTTYcyg runs
slowly on multi-CPU systems.
