There is no built in function like popover("update") from twitter bootstrap unfortunately.
As of now the popover needs to be destroyed and recreated to set new content, otherwise it stacks up in the html output with every keystroke, which means you end up with multiple overlapping popovers.

Yes, there is no actual update() method but you can simply reset the content HTML if needed.

Show popover if hidden, reset text if there is an error, destroy if there is no error.
Possibly not the finest solution but a simple one, and the popover wont flicker again.

@schurigh The problems start when the content of the popover change in size:

As you can see, the position of the popover doesn't get recalculated when the content changes. The popover grows and start covering the password input.

But seeing your example I realized that if the popover is placed under the password input it doesn't matter if its content grows. So that is an acceptable solution, it doesn't flicker, and it doesn't cover the input :)
