Expiry number html5 input slash ux browser behaviour

Why do we want to use a number field:

  1. Because it's a number
  2. Because certain devices will expose a keyboard with numbers making the experience seamless.

Some browsers (see IE11 screenshot) allow the user to type a slash. This is likely a better experience in that the user can type as they see fit without the keyboard ignoring their input.

So, we need to allow people to type a slash. They don't have to, but they can if they wish.

Our system should be forgiving.
