corona-cli's Issues

Suggested: Comparison between 2 countries

so the basic idea of this implementation would be to have a comparison of statistics between 2 countries.
The command would be corona -c1 china -c2 italy.
And the same will result into 2 rows of the said countries and their statistical comparison wherein the higher numbers be indicated by some color.

Open Source Helps!

Thanks for your work to help the people in need! Your site has been added! I currently maintain the Open-Source-COVID-19 page, which collects all open source projects related to COVID-19, including maps, data, news, api, analysis, medical and supply information, etc. Please share to anyone who might need the information in the list, or will possibly contribute to some of those projects. You are also welcome to recommend more projects.

Cases (today) clarification

Me again!

Might be useful to clarify what "Cases (today)" actually means. I'm assuming it's not in the past 24hrs, but rather it's comparing to a local timestamp?

Thanks!

Output: json / report / dir

Great one!

  1. a JSON output (through --json flag?) would be good
  2. A more clean output (only the table) would be good
  3. Add the date (plus time) the command is run to the output
  4. A --top flag or --limit one, to output only X number of countries.
4.1. corona --top 10 or corona --limit 30
  5. "Report" feature, behind --report flag, meaning it will write the table to file at some location (also customizable through flag). Like ./report/corona-iso-date.txt (or .json if the (1) flag is present)
    5.1. corona --json --report ./corona-foobar.json
5.2. corona --json --report -> to default location & default file name like ./report/corona-2020-04-21 with .json ext (because the --json flag, otherwise no)
5.3. corona --report -> table output to default loc ./report/corona-2020-04-21

This way we can collect the data for each day and do more interesting stuff later in time.

states output is wrong (recovered/active)

Awesome script! Very cool. Seems like a bug cropped up today with the states output. I'm pretty sure it was fine yesterday.

output of corona states:

image
Active is always 0.
Recovered makes no sense too.

Suggestion: limit output to N countries

I'm mostly interested in looking at the progression of the disease in the current top 10 countries. Would it be possible to specify a cutoff number, where only the top N results are shown?

For example: corona --sort cases -n 10

Omit columns from output

PR #47

It would be nice to have feature to omit whole columns from output.

node index.js --omit=cases-today_deaths

Incorrect values

corona-cli is reporting 155 deaths for South Africa, this is incorrect. Deaths are zero today.
corona South Africa

npm test is failing

npm test fails with the following error:

Screenshot from 2020-03-21 12-31-09

I have tested this on:

1 - Arc Linux, Node 13
2 - Ubuntu, Node 10

corona help

At "CLI Help" section in the readme file, corona help is advised too, but only corona --help works, the error is " Nops. A country named "help" does not exist… ".
I was thinking corona -h but it is ignored, working like corona.

LDdvlp.

Wrong column order

The column order of country is wrong
Annotation 2020-03-23 235720

Try on both windows 10 and ubuntu

reverse order of output

Great cli tool, thanks for sharing! ❀️

Problem: output of all countries is very long, requiring lots of scrolling to see top data
Solution: offer a -r flag to reverse the sort output order.

less verbose output

Would be nice to have a slightly less verbose (i.e., more compact) output.
Workaround: this can be achieved by pipes (e.g. "| grep ...").

Would be nice to have option to remove empty lines between countries/states.

--no-pad

Would be nice to have option to remove the Key.

--no-key

Would be nice to remove the header ("Track the C...")

--no-header

Add testing positivity rate

Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the FDA, has written about the importance of the testing positivity rate.

I wrote a script just to compute testing positivity rate. It's pretty ghetto but serves as an example.

Add country code to country field

It would be nice to add the country code to the country field. This would help, to distinguish between different countries more easily.

So, e.g. for China the country field would look like China (CN) instead of only showing China.

Stopped working. "API is down"

Are the servers down?
Used to work until today.

Android App?

Hi I was reading your code, and given read map it's a little complicated specially if you're on your phone, I thought to create an android app instead, what do you think?

I read your entry points doesn't need keys.

I created an android app that retrieve initially all the countries, are you agree?

There's the link and it's how it looks currently...

I hope you're ok..

Compare columns

It would be very useful to be able to compare columns. For example deaths per recovered case, deaths per confirmed case, active cases per recovered case, etc.

Country with no recorded case

Awesome. I tried to check for Sierra Leone, Libya which have no recorded case. But no result found. Is it that you tracking only countries that have reported a case thus far? If yes then it's okay but I suggest you change the message when a country with no recorded case is not found.

Thank you.

New option --date

New option --date -d ddmmyy that gives the results for the given date.

replace (today) with (last 24hrs)

Today is often left at 0, perhaps because the last recorded results were added recorded yesterday, but only a few hours ago.

Changing to last 24hrs will solve this issue.

China should be at #3 in both lists, but does not appear in the first.

Incorrect (extra) column in output misrepresenting data

The requested country has an extra column resulting in a deadly misrepresentation of data (i.e., deaths).
Note USA has an extra/blank column 2. This results in the subsequent columns being one off, thus reporting deaths as cases.

Example: "corona-cli usa"

corona-cli v2.5.0 by Awais.dev

Better error messages when api is down

As I write this issue it seems that https://corona.lmao.ninja/countries is down? so the cli hangs for around 2 minutes and then spits out the following error

undefined UNHANDLED ERROR
undefined ERROR β†’ Error
i REASON β†’ Request failed with status code 524
i ERROR STACK ↓
Error: Request failed with status code 524
    at createError (C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\npm\node_modules\corona-cli\node_modules\axios\lib\core\createError.js:16:15)
    at settle (C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\npm\node_modules\corona-cli\node_modules\axios\lib\core\settle.js:17:12)
    at IncomingMessage.handleStreamEnd (C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\npm\node_modules\corona-cli\node_modules\axios\lib\adapters\http.js:236:11)

    at endReadableNT (_stream_readable.js:1129:12)

Would be better to have some sort of timeout a minute or so and then notify the user that the api is down / can't be reached
