Hey,
I'm working with several designers and import into a shared library their symbols once work is done. But every time I move symbols into the shared library it resers the overides and we have to do them once agin in all their artboards!
I don't think it's related especially to sketch 52.
It's a real pain. Any idea?

I installed this plugin and I think that first time it worked. But now when I select "move to libary", I can select the library with a popup, it disappears and when I clicked to go to this other library it doesn't exist. It tried a lot of times even with a different and new projects and new simple symbols and it always happens the same. If I do the opposite move from an external library to the local one, it works.

It is a supergreatpluggin but I can't use it..

It would be absolutely cool if were possible to relink a set of symbols instanced from a given library, to another one that contains the same symbols.

This is built-in on Sketch and works well when you have those different libraries outside Abstract. But if you want to switch from a library placed locally (or in Dropbox) and want to switch all symbols to a library that lives in Abstract, it doesn't work.

I think it would an awesome feature for your plugin. Just praying to see it implemented 🙏

I use the latest versions of Sketch and Move-to-library plugin.
And I face this issue.
Several designers work on their own sketch file using a a shared library and their local library.
In their local symbols each designer use shared text styles imported with the shared library or new local text styles.
When we move the symbols from their local library to the shared library we loose all text styles! the texts are ok but no text style remain.
I have to apply text by text the right style for each imported symbol. Quite uncomfortable.
I know shared styles with shared library is a really new feature.
Do you think your plugin will deal with that?

Everything appears to work well, but the symbol doesn't appear in shared library.

I tried to move selected items to the Library and it is not moving them.

I would really like to use this plugin... but it seams like it's not working at all in Sketch 54. Is this a known issue?

In new dialog window you lost one feature of old native dialogue — last chosen option of select.
Hope you include it or something like that

Every time I use Move Selected Symbols to Library, it completes successfully, but closes the library file. Is this intended?

Latest version of sketch, tried running on a symbol instance on a page and also on a symbol on the symbols page. Can't get it to do anything. Restarted sketch since install, still no dice.

The first time I used this plugin, the "Move All Symbols..." worked fine. With subsequent files, Move All no longer worked, I could only move selected symbols.

When I work with 100% local imported libraries, no problem it perfectly runs.
But I'm synchronized with OneDrive and I work in my OneDrive folder.
I tried to move a symbol from a current working file to an imported library placed in another subfolder of my OneDrive. It seems it doesn't work. My symbol disapeared from my library; the symbols are still there in my artboards. They're linked to my imported library. But if I choose to edit the symbol into my imported library I can't find it! There's nothing. Weird.
Any idea?

On the second image below, I would expect to see a choice for where to move my symbol to. Instead it appears blank.

I moved all my sktech files and libraries to sketch cloud and unfortunately this plugin does not work anymore. It shows that moving was successfully, but if I take a look no symbole is shown in the library.

I moved a symbol that had several nested symbols and overrides to a library file and the nested symbols weren't moved/copied recursively, breaking the instances of the symbol.

Still use the latest versions of Sketch and Move-to-library plugin.
I noticed sometimes symbols are copied instead of moved to the target library. The popin don't change to the confirm screen. But the symbol is copied. Did you notice this too?

Would be great if we can also migrate symbols to non-library sketch files!

First, thanks so much for this plugin. It saved my team and me hours of work.

I use the latest version of sketch and of the plugin.

Since recently, when I move a symbol to my library I lose text styles and layer styles and need to reapply them in the library.

I keep all the style attributes but not the link to the style.

If I have a symbol instance from a library symbol inside the symbol that I move to the library, the symbol instance is still linked after being moved.
However they lose their layer style overrides and go back to the default layer style.

At first I thought that it was because I use different libraries for symbols, text styles and layer styles. However I did a test by creating a text style in my symbols library but I have the same issue.

One of my colleague also has exact this problem.

Having cleaned up Sketch files from previous designers that used this plugin… This plugin is terrible! I do not recommend using it if you already know what you are doing and use Sketch Cloud Libraries. This plugin will duplicate symbols between a Sketch Cloud library and your local symbol library but leave no trace of the actual symbols in your local sketch file however they still appear in the dropdown menu for "local" symbols that you can not seem to get rid of.

Move to library just stopped working and I'm constantly getting a message saying "Something went wrong".

After updating to the latest version of the plugin, it seemed as though I was able to "move selected symbols" to my project's library again.

I got the "success" message and my Sketch file thinks that the symbol is now in the library, but it's nowhere to be found in the library.

I'm not sure if this would matter, but my library has symbols in two pages; "Components" and "Symbols". I've checked both pages via the filter to see if they have been "hidden" for some reason but they're nowhere to be found.

Any ideas? It's a little bizarre…

I noticed a new issue. When I move a symbol containing imported symbols from the target library, it fails. Nothing is moved and new symbols with missing contents (the one contained in the target library are created)

When clicking "add to library" sketch immediately is being closed

When cllicking on library dropdown, UI goes blank

Sketch 51.2, Move to Library 2.2.0

Scenario:
I have two files:
Project.sketch
Library.sketch

1. I've created some symbols in Library.sketch and I was using them in the Project.sketch.
2. In my Project I've created a new component using symbols from Library and some new stuff in it.
3. I've created a Symbol from my new component and I used Move to Library plugin
4. I had my Library opened so I got this notification that someone is trying to overwrite the file
5. I closed my Library and went back again to Project to move my symbols to Library again
6. I've opened Library again and moved symbols were covered with the diagonal red stripes (nested symbols were unlinked and lost)

Apart from that this plugin is a really good idea but need some more work :)

Nothing happens when I press the button

Nothing happens when Library is selected and button is pressed. Is it broken again by Sketch internal file structure changes?

Hi, there are some symbols which are not moving to the Library like other symbols. Even all the symbols have same properties. Is there something I am missing?

A symbol created in file was moved to the Library, now the changes made in the library don't reflect in instance. Even when a symbol is freshly imported.
