'Manually' calling .init() and .cleanup() is a thing of the past, something like the following should be possible:

from sensors import Thingy

with Thingy():
    for chip in sensors.iter_detected_chips():
        # do cool stuff

This will likely be hard to test, support will either need to be available or dropped (how old is v3?).
