pso-icons's Issues

Remove stroke

The stroke-width that exists is arbitrary and different consumers may want different amounts.

Improve precision and incorporate ideas from icons wallpaper

When researching #1, I became aware of alternatives to the game textures for sourcing shapes. There was a 1280x1024 wallaper that shows most of the icons that go on the palette (although some of them look like early/unfinished versions with unusually thin lines). There are almost 8x as many pixels per icon (~139x121 vs 50x43 from the game textures) and they clarify a lot of the intent with how the icons should look. Notably, they show some of the circle orbs overlapping lines have the lines wrap around the circle with a buffer (e.g. Razonde, Gibarta). Everywhere else this clarifies lines are meant to be pointed instead of round (e.g. Rabarta, Foie).

There are discrepancies between the game textures and this wallpaper, so the compromise will be to fit things closer to the in-game textures as much as possible, but use the wallpaper to add some definition in some places. In some places where the texture is asymmetrical defying the wallpaper (e.g. Razonde), then the goal here will be to be symmetrical.

Switch href to xlink:href

SVG 1.1 requires href attribute to be in the XLink http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink namespace. However, this is deprecated -- and was even when this repository was created. In practice though, SVG 2, which promotes the href attribute to the default/empty namespace, is still in Editor's Draft status (latest release December 21 2022). Browsers accept either form, but editors like GIMP and Inkscape do not support SVG 2 and thus require the XLink namespace.

Originally when I created this repository I expected this lack of support to be resolved, but 3 years later with no progress, and with recent updates, I'll choose the form with the most support considering it's not just one tool that doesn't support SVG 2.
