I realise you're not looking for feature requests, but anyway :)
Recent versions of windows support middle-clicking on a program in the taskbar to create a new file/window. This works with notepad, but it doesn't work with metapad, and it would be much better if it did.

I have been looking at a way to do a regex search/replace in metapad and have not gotten it to work. I hope I am not bringing up an old subject or have missed a built in feature. It looks like you have been the primary and sole programmer on this project. I really like the interface and how quick it works to perform text manipulation. I am really tired of MS's notepad and how slow and unresponsive it is. Thank you for your hard work.
Would you be interested in putting in this feature? Or would you be willing for anyone to make changes to input the original project? Or do you even have time to put into this? Thanks again. Sincerely, Randy

Woohoo! Feature requests are now open! (Okay, I just made that up.)

But in the rare event that they are, having the Find window not obscure results would be a great improvement.

In case anyone resumes development:

If the user clicks below the end of file (EOF), and the last item in the file is a hyperlink, and hyperlinks are enabled (Ctrl+K), the hyperlink will still be launched.

When inserting text from the clipboard to the replace text, it is silently trimmed to 100 characters (MAXFIND).

I guess there is no good quick fix, but at least the user should know about this limit. I therefore suggest to add a message box with a warning.

From my understanding Metapad does not offer Syntax Highlighting, and will not for the forseeable future.

I am raising this issue merely to get a definitive yes or no for future people who may be interested in this program.
