This plugin appears to work as expected with Gatsby v3 and Portable Text (such as from Sanity CMS), but there is a warning regarding the peer dependency requiring Gatsby 2.0.0

Solution

Barring any unknown issues, add Gatsby ^3.0.0 as a peer dependency for this plugin.
