to->words doesn't return value when time is less than a second ago

I was implementing this to show the modification date on a user profile. After a save, the user is returned to his profile, but this would happen in under a second. So nothing would be returned because the following is false:

$date < $now

I did a quick and dirty fix by adding an if:

if ($date == $now) {
    return 'just now';
}

split

Would be awesome if this package were separated somehow (maybe thru tags) so that we could get what we are going to use rather than having to clone/submodule them all.
