If there is a way to add a representative photo and/or link an album or website, might add some interest. I know our Leinkauf District has some photo albums and a terrible website and they'd love extra traffic! Might need permission for private homes? I'm not sure about this.

This issue is just to create a list of links/matching places

Maybe will have to change magnifying glass toggle listener to something mobile-friendly?

Retain some historic map visibility in the magnifying glass overlay, and put in a slider so users can adjust that transparency to what they're comfortable with.

Within the al_historic.geojson file the placemark names are a hot mess. Fix the text. Bonus points for creating a new properties field called "link" and putting in the link to Wikipedia or something for that historic place.

Suggestion from Terry, include a timeline and pictures, similar to http://syria.liveuamap.com
