garden's Issues

Use "garden link" to test before committing

Microservices are in different repos. In garden lingo, our services are "remote modules".

Right now we're required to push changes to GitHub to test them in our garden:

repositoryUrl: https://github.com/AlpacaLabs/password-reset.git#master

But there has to be a way to locally hook everything up.

Maybe we can do something like

repositoryUrl: ${var.password-reset-url || https://github.com/AlpacaLabs/password-reset.git#master}

where my particular garden.env looks like:

password-reset-url=file:///Users/kevinchen/dev/alpaca/password-reset#master

Per https://docs.garden.io/advanced/using-remote-sources:

If you have a local copy of your external source and want to be able to work on it and make changes, you can use the link module|source command. To link the web-services source from above, you would run:

garden link module password-reset-image /Users/kevinchen/dev/alpaca/password-reset

and to unlink we would run

garden unlink module password-reset-image
