extension's Issues

Allow disabling the "Are you sure?" prompt

The "Are you sure?" prompt that shows up when you decide to buy on Amazon has led me to uninstall this add-on. From my perspective the trouble is that the add-on just doesn't work well enough and consistently enough to justify that popup - most of the time I use this add-on, I can't find the product I'm looking at on Amazon on any of the linked sites. If it worked more consistently, the popup could be justified, and if there was no popup, the inconsistency wouldn't be a problem - but taken together, they make the add-on a net negative on my browsing experience.

smile.amazon.com doesn't work

The add-on doesn't work if I'm on an Amazon Smile page, which is ironically the only halfway-ethical way to shop on Amazon.

Migrate manifest_version to v3

I was waiting for Firefox to migrate to v3, and it looks like it will be possible in the near future.

we welcome MV3 extensions in the release to general availability in Firefox 109 (January 17, 2023)

Add a simple tutorial popup

Some users find that it's not explicit enough how the extension works and try to use it by clicking on the extension icon in the toolbar.

We should display a small tutorial in a popup when we click on the icon to explain how to use the extension.

Extension does not work for German Amazon

Even though it seems to be supported by the extension and the article is available in one of the integrated stores, the integration of “buy elsewhere“ does not happen when seeing the article on amazon.de (for all articles I tested). For example a quite popular book “Becoming” is clearly available at buchhandel.de but nothing different is displayed when visiting the German Amazon listing. In contrast the US Amazon listing displays a “buy elsewhere” button with different buying options.

Tested with Firefox & Chrome extension on macOS Catalina.

Handle website favorites

The user should be able to mark some websites as favorite so that they can arrive first in the dropdown list

Display something in amazon page to stop us buying from it

Hi

Because we are a lot to have bad habits
it would be nice if, when visiting a book page, the extension modifies the page to add a button to buy from Place des libraires or displays a big "stop" dismissable in the middle of the page !

Thanks for your work ! Great extension ! :)
