Select Parent menu while selecting child node

i need the functionality like once we selecting the anyone child node then the parent node to be selected automatically. Now this functionality not included.
Eg :
i have a parent menu as fruits and the child are Apple, grape, Mango and so on. if i am selecting the mango and the fruits parent menu also need to select with only selected child as mango.

and also i am deselect all the child menu but the parent menu not deselect, without any child select then parent menu also need to deselect.
