Let's Talk About Minecraft 1.21

Summary:
The upcoming Minecraft 1.21 update introduces new spawners in the Trial Chambers structures, which allow skeletons to spawn with potion-dipped arrows. As far as "More Vanilla Mobs" is concerned, these technically qualify under what this data pack aims to achieve. As such, it should be discussed whether we should add these changes to the spawn pool for skeletons and possibly expand the variety of potion-dipped arrows they can use. Additionally, we need to determine how this implementation should be carried out and the chances of spawning for each arrow type.

Changes to Discuss:

  1. Should we add skeletons with potion-dipped arrows to the spawn pool for skeletons in general?
  2. Should we incorporate spawning for skeletons with more types of potion-dipped arrows?

Implementation Details:
If we decide to implement these changes, we need to consider the following details:

  1. How should the new potion-dipped arrows be implemented? Should they be assigned randomly to skeletons upon spawning?
  2. What chances should each type of potion-dipped arrow have to spawn with skeletons? Are certain arrows more common than others?
  3. Should we keep any limitations on specific arrow types, such as rarity or biome-specific spawning?

Please share your thoughts and suggestions regarding these changes and their implementation.

Toggling Individual Mobs

Summary:
Currently, the "More Vanilla Mobs" data pack only allows toggling for the Dungeons implementations of mobs, which are off by default. However, it is essential to provide more flexibility and control to users by allowing the option to toggle the spawning of any mob within the data pack. This issue aims to discuss and implement an update that enables the toggling of any mob in the data pack, regardless of its default state.

Changes to Implement:

  1. Update the "More Vanilla Mobs" data pack to include the ability to toggle the spawning of any mob.
  2. Ensure that the toggling feature applies to all mobs, including those that are currently enabled by default.

Implementation Details:
The following details need to be considered during the implementation process:

  1. How should the toggling feature be implemented? Should it be a command, a configuration file, or another method?
  2. How can we provide a comprehensive and user-friendly interface for toggling individual mobs in the data pack?
  3. Should the toggling feature be implemented globally for all users, or should it be player-specific?
