Peripheral Driver Samples

Samples for Android Things peripheral drivers located in the contrib-drivers repository.

Note: The Android Things Console will be turned down for non-commercial use on January 5, 2022. For more details, see the FAQ page.

Build and install

Open the project in Android Studio, select the "Run Configuration" for the sample you want to run and click the "Run" button.

See each sample subdirectory README.md for more instructions.

GPS driver sample buffer overflow

I am trying the sample for the GPS driver with a raspberry pi 3 and the Ultimate GPS V3 breakout board.

The GPS board is connected following this schematics:

Firebase Streaming from the REST API for GSM/GPRS modules

Is there a way to connect to a firebase database using eventSource / Server-Sent Events protocol with a GSM/GPRS module such as SIM800L?

I'm trying to reduce my data usage, the normal GET request kills my download limits on Firebase.

GPS Location Speed always null

I am trying to get the speed from the Location object that I get from my LocationListener, the object never has speed.

My Log never get hit although the lat long are correct.

I put some breakpoints in NmeaGpsDriver#onGpsSpeedUpdate and in GpsDriver#reportLocation and I see the speed having the correct value there.

I tried to log while having the device moving at 30mph, no speed at all from the LocationListener.

cap12xx sample doesn't work for Pico i.MX7D

I'm attempting to use the capacitive buttons (A/B/C), but the sample app fails to initialise:

This corresponds to this line in the activity's onCreate:

I assume it's just an invalid I2C port for the board, but I've no idea what it should be.

I'm using the AIY Assistant kit with the Pico Pro i.MX7d (instead of the Raspberry Pi.

Any idea what can it be?

APK signature verification failed.

Sample build went fine but when I run on emulator I get error message:
"02/14 20:24:13: Launching 'tm1637' on 5.1 WVGA API 22.
Installation did not succeed.
The application could not be installed: INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES
APK signature verification failed."

I am running on Android Studio 3.5.3 and Android 10.0 SDK

Servo sample for Android Things does not working with i.MX7D

Hi!
I ran the pwmservo demo on NXP Pico i.MX7D Developer Kit and it did not work.
I then ran the same demo on Raspberry Pi 3 B and it worked as instructed.

The only difference between both is just the wiring for PWM1 on i.MX7D vs PWM0 on the Raspberry Pi.

I also ranused the PIO CLI to figure out whether the PWM is working or not, and when i ran
pio pwm PWM0 enable 1 --duty=12.5 --freq=50 on my Raspberry Pi 3 B, my servo managed to turn as instructed,
but when I ran pio pwm PWM1 enable 1 --duty=12.5 --freq=50, on the i.MX7D, my servo did not turn.

Any clues?

apa102 example - missing loop for LED lighting?

In the apa102 example there is no loop of the animation thread, but in pwmspeaker the example is looped.

I was wondering if this is a mistake for the apa102 example. Should it be looped? (because otherwise it'll just light up the LED's once then stop right?
