Current Behavior

I installed it as a Gnome extension but simply can't enable as a message states it's not compatible.

Plans for GNOME 46 support?

Current Behavior

Doesn't work with GNOME 46.

Expected Behavior

Valent is a great project and a very good replacement for the outdated GSConnect extension! Although this is an early development project, it works very well for the most part.

Since GNOME 46 was released a little over a month ago, are there any plans to add support for the Valent extension anytime soon?

Remove the Python plugin

Remove the Python plugin from the GNOME Shell extension.

This will avoid awkward init()-time installation of files, extra sandbox permissions and generally allow the extension to be more free-standing.

The clipboard D-Bus interface will continue to function, regardless of whether the plugin connects to it, and any plugin from Valent's well-known D-Bus name may connect to it.

Blank screen with cursor after screen goes blank

Current Behavior

When screen goes blank (screen turns off) and I will wake screen up with moving cursor or key press, I have black screen with cursor and desktop won't appearing any more. The only solution is to put the computer to sleep and wake it up again. If I wait longer and the screen locks, this problem does not exist.

The problem only occurs with the Valent extension and I disabled all other extensions for testing. If the Valent extension is disabled, this problem does not occur.

The problem occurs with both GNOME 45 (the older version of the extension) and GNOME 46 (the latest version of the extension).

Expected Behavior

The desktop appears as expected.
