Hello! I'm sure you all have known & loved this app for a while. However, it became very outdated/brittle, and even Heroku didn't want to host it any more (trying to upgrade off EOL platform broke the build entirely, and trying to update package versions also broke it).

So, there's a new kid in town, budget-redo. It's built with the latest version of meteor.js + react. It's faster and uses rrule.js to do all the recurring-date number crunching (don't re-invent THAT wheel, trust me).

This app grew out of two distinct needs: The need to learn something new because working on the same thing all the time gets old, and the need for me to have a budgeting style that works for me.

I used to get paid every two weeks and my partner used to get paid once a week. Well, I'm sure we all know bills are pretty much monthly, so trying to determine which paycheck pays which bills and how much you'll have left over can get rather annoying.

Toss out that spreadsheet you've been updating each week. This budget app is alive and will keep up with you. Add income and bills, tag them as debt or savings, ooh and ahh at the pretty graphs and find out if you have enough money to buy those concert tickets when they go on sale in three weeks. It's all possible!

Cannot set recurring event as non-recurring in edit mode

Validation for input of events

Especially for "amount" - require numbers only.

Prevent "NaN" in balance field

Allow "first/second/third/fourth/last ___ of every month"

Datepicker does not close when date is selected

Differentiate auto-pay / manual pay bills

Require log in before using app, or allow temporary anon session

I'm the designer at sandstorm.io and discovered your app through Made with Meteor. It seems really useful and I thought it'd be a great fit for Sandstorm. We're currently looking for unique open-source apps to add to our App Market and we don't have any budgeting/finance apps so this would definitely be great for our community.

Would you possibly be interested in helping me get your app running on Sandstorm so that others can quickly install & create instances of it? I was able to package it successfully but perhaps you'd like to test it out on Sandstorm to see if it works as you want it to.

I'm pretty excited about this so if you decide you are interested in polishing this, I'd be happy to design some icons/graphics for you. Let me know if you have any ideas.
