An interview take-home is a type of job interview where we provide you with a specific task to complete on your own time within a specified timeframe, and submit the results back to us. This will give you the opportunity to showcase your skills and abilities in a more practical and hands-on manner.

Getting Started

  1. Install Node.js: Node.js is a JavaScript runtime that allows you to run JavaScript on the server side. You can download and install it from the official Node.js website: https://nodejs.org/
  2. Install Yarn: Yarn is a package manager for Node.js that allows you to easily manage dependencies and packages for your project. You can download and install it from the official Yarn website: https://classic.yarnpkg.com/en/docs/install/

  1. Install project dependencies: Once you have Node.js and Yarn installed, navigate to the project directory in your terminal and run the following command to install all project dependencies:
yarn install
  1. Run the code: After the dependencies are installed, run the following command to start the project:
yarn run-code

How to Write the Question:

For this interview take-home project, we would like you to fill in the functions listed in questions.ts. Take generateSixDigitRandomNumberString() as an example. This function should generate a random six-digit number and return it as a string.

When writing the question, keep the following considerations in mind:

Clarity: The question should be clear and concise. Make sure that the student understands what is expected of them and what they need to accomplish.

Robustness: The function should be able to handle unexpected inputs and edge cases. Consider what happens if the input is not a number, or if the function is called with no arguments.

Ductility: The function should be flexible and able to be used in a variety of contexts. Consider what happens if the function is called multiple times in a row or if it needs to be used in a larger application.
