Our entire codebase incorrectly uses sendError instead of setStatus for redirects. We've been getting away with it, but it does force the redirects through the error handlers, which both increases the server-side overhead and writes an unnecessary verbose response body.

We may consider writing a small generated response body in HTML formatting, with a link to the target. This would be helpful when the client does not follow the redirect, such as curl with default options. Compare to default behavior of HttpServletResponse.sendRedirect(…).
