osmposter is a simple script to generate a poster out of Openstreetmap map tiles. It is licensed under the BSD license. == USAGE === python poster.py <output_filename> <top_tile> <left_tile> <height> <width> <zoom> <styleid> Parameters in detail: output_filename: the filename of the resulting image (supported formats include .png, .jpg and others) top_tile: the number of the top tiles (see below) left_tile: the number of the left tiles (see below) height: height of the resulting image in pixels width: width of the resulting image in pixels zoom: zoom level that defines the number of details (see below) styleid: the id of the style on cloudmade (see below) == How to get the values for top_tile, left_tile, zoom and styleid? == 1. Goto maps.cloudmade.com. 2. Select your preferred map style. 3. Click on the "Share" button. 4. Create an empty text file with the postfix ".html". 5. Copy the embed code shown below the share url into the empty file 6. Open the file in a browser 7. On the map zoom to the the top left tile that should be on your poster. Make shure that the zoom level fits your needs. 8. Right-click on the tile and open the image in a new tab. 9. The URL has the format "http://<x>.tile.cloudmade.com/<y>/<styleid>/<z>/<zoom>/<top_tile>/<left_tile>.png and contains all necessary values (<x>, <y>, <z> can be ignored). == Examples == Example 1: python poster.py out.png 8662 5390 1500 4500 14 999 Example 2: python poster.py out.png 17328 10777 3000 9000 15 999 == LICENSE (BSD) == Copyright (c) Nils Breyer 2011 The Regents of the University of California.
