Easy to use IPC emitter using Windows Named Pipes.

Installation

npm install named-pipes --save

Usage

Server

NamedPipes = require 'named-pipes'

server = NamedPipes.listen('your-pipe-name')

server.on 'connect', (client) ->
  console.log 'New Client'

  client.send 'welcome', 'something' # THis gets passed to emit on the client side

Client

NamedPipes = require 'named-pipes'

pipe = NamedPipes.connect('your-pipe-name')

pipe.on 'welcome', (str) ->
  console.log str # Outputs 'something'

maybe ditch the coffeescript and revamp this thing?

Examples of hpw to send from the client?

Hi

I've been messing about with this and I can work out how to send a message from the client to the server

I have this as my client code:

const NamedPipes = require('named-pipes');
 
const pipe = NamedPipes.connect('MyPipe');
 
pipe.on('message', (str) =>
  console.log(str));

pipe.send("message", "hello!");

On my server side I have this:

server.on('connect', (client) => {
        console.log('New Client Connected');
    
        client.send("Welcome", "Cheese is nice!");
    }).on('message', (message) => {
        console.log(message);
    })

I start the server side then run the client code and nothing happens when it should be logging the message sent
