• The main issue: soname will change on each vlfeat upstream version.
• The make file is also a problem. It's a good one for cross plateform compilation but it's very restrictive towards packaging. Maybe we should provide our own (work lost by a f_$_ing "rm -rf *").

The package fails to build with git-buildpackage, attached part of the error
