fan-controller's Issues

Add output/logs on start of service

When the script/service starts an output to the terminal and a logging file will indicate the current status of the process, e.g.

[...]
Starting prometheus exporter... Done.
Metrics are exposed on port 8080...
[...]

Create installation script.

Add an installation script which can be run after cloning the repo and sets up the systemd service and config file.

Add seperate configuration file

Some values given to the controller are user-specific (temperature thresholds, fan speeds, ...) and therefore should be configured within a dedicated config file instead of the Python script.

The configuration file will also include some documentation and explanation regarding these values.

Refactor code

Ongoing issue to track refactoring and improving of code.

Add prometheus exporter

The fan controller should be monitored with Grafana. Therefore, a functionality to export temperature, RPM, etc. is necessary.
A function will be implemented to export these values with Prometheus.
