nim_msgshm's Issues

Is this measurably faster than using nanomsg in practice?

Apart from the "yet another dependency" question, apart from the immaturity of this young minuscule library, and apart from the constraints (especially data size) msgshm imposes, let's focus purely on performance in practice.

Could you do some real performance benchmark measurements against https://github.com/nanomsg/nanomsg ?

And if you already did, could you please publish your results (even if not rigorous, inaccurate and rough). Just to get a sense where this goes and what are the tradeoffs.

I'm asking because Nanomsg is crafted for the same purpose - communicating between threads, processes, and even whole machines (but let's leave this "network trasparency" completely aside - that's not the point of my question). So anyone using Nim would want to know why to use msgshm instead of Nanomsg ๐Ÿ˜‰.
