Design Meeting Improvements

  • Clear search results when switching search types, but remember all parameters
  • Change "List" button to "Edit List" or "Edit" + icon
  • Switching to Search Type->List brings up list panel initially
  • Clear button clears results, but only affects current search type parameters
  • Change tooltips on copy buttons to specify product ID or granule name
  • Move Granule Detail column to center column
  • Make bottom panel user-resizable
  • Add disappearing copy granule name icon next to granules in lefthand column
  • Switch hamburger menu to angular sidebar
  • Add indicator to results granule column showing X/Y in cart
  • Make equatorial map type selector non-mandatory
  • Find out if we can stop differentiating between granule list and product list

Possible Usability Improvements

  • shorten scene names on smaller screens
  • Try removing 'date' label in granule list
  • Better layout of scene detail on small screens
  • Allow NASA logo to be clicked through
  • Click through transparent parts of map-control buttons
  • limit width of map attributions
  • Add fade in/out of additional filters
  • Look into improving aoi option fade in/out animation
  • Add shake invalidations to path/frame filter
  • add clear buttons to each section in additional filters
  • tooltips for different drawing methods
  • Add button to set product type in products menu
  • Better icons for Box and Polygon Draw
  • SA/SB filter for Sentinel-1 and ERS

[DS-3357] As a User, it would be helpful to have a descriptor beneath products translating the code into something more clear

desc

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Full description for users
  • Amplitude for amp
  • Unwrapped Interferogram for unw
  • Wrapped Interferogram for int
  • Annotation for ann
  • Etc.

Heidi feedback notes:

I've been working with UAVSAR data, and it's difficult to see what the products are in the right-most pane of the results, particularly for the KMZ files. This is probably more of an issue now that there is the unzip capability, which exposes more of the individual files; the files are listed, but it's cumbersome to figure out what each one is. The filenames are severely truncated, and I have to hover over each one in order to see the full filename. For the actual products, the extension is specific to the product type, and it's listed along with the file size below the item, which makes it easier to identify the one you want. For the KMZ files, however, all of the files in the directory have the same extension (kmz). So to locate the interferogram or the amplitude or the coherence file in that directory, I have to hover over each one.
Now that I'm a bit more familiar with the products, I can tell which ones I want based on just the code included in the filename (generally the extension for the main products, and included earlier in the filename for the kmz products), but it would be helpful to have the descriptor beneath the item translate that code into something clear (i.e. Amplitude for amp, Unwrapped Interferogram for unw, Wrapped Interferogram for int, Annotation for ann, etc.)
