The Assistant for No Man's Sky is an app that gives users information about the game, such as crafting recipes, refiner recipes, item costs, blueprint costs, a portal library and guides. Almost all of the data is extracted from the No Man's Sky game files. This project would not be possible without the hard work of the NMS Modding community and the MBinCompiler.

This app was originally released in early August 2019! The app was originally named No Man's Sky Recipes, when submitting the app to the Apple Store it was rejected due to the name and so the app was renamed.

After 3 years of development and maintenance, the app was made open source so that the community could have greater control and oversight of what goes into the apps and hopefully some people might want to help fix bugs 😅

Requirements

• NodeJS

Steps:

1. Clone this repository
2. In the directory where the package.json file is, run npm i
3. Run the webApp npm start
4. View it on localhost:3000

[Bug]: NPM packages are dependent on older React version

Describe the bug

The FAB and SegmentedControl npm packages haven't been updated in years, they are not compatible with React 18 and so the npm i command is failing to resolve the mismatch in dependencies.

To Reproduce

Run npm i

Expected behavior

Running npm i should install all required packages without error.

[Code Improvement]: Use @use instead of @import in scss files

Sass writes on their website:

The Sass team discourages the continued use of the @import rule. Sass will gradually phase it out over the next few years, and eventually remove it from the language entirely. Prefer the @use rule instead. (Note that only Dart Sass currently supports @use. Users of other implementations must use the @import rule instead.)

I'm always frustrated when a feature from the mobile app is not available on the web.

In this case it's the creature sources of cooking items, for example the Fiendish Roe. In the mobile app I can see that I can get it from WEIRDROLL, but I can't see that on the web app.

Add chemical symbols to substances

I sometimes need the chemical symbols for stuff. Some of them also differ depending on localisation.

Add the chemical symbol to substances. For example "O2" for Oxygen.

The alternative would be to always search through the game files when I need the symbols, which is tedious.

Additional context
The symbol lang key can be found under "Symbol" directly below "ID" in NMS_REALITY_GCSUBSTANCETABLE.MBIN.

Modal for mobile users on the WebApp

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
There is a large amount of people using the WebApp on mobile while the mobile version of the WebApp can be improved a lot.

Describe the solution you'd like
A single modal that only shows for mobile users and asks them to rather use the mobile apps is better for now.
Should only be displayed on mobile and should have a way to permanently dismiss

Testing and making all the pages in the WebApp more responsive

🐛 Bug report: Title player name input doesn't follow dark theme

Everything is dark, only the popup is light.
I'll see if I can find the correct component for this myself and fix it tomorrow, otherwise you can do your magic, magic man

Small translation error

The name for "Datos recuperados" returns the name in English "Salvaged Data". I don't think it would be intended so that why I'm creating this.
