When editing some C source code, everything after the return type of the function is displayed in bold dark-red text. Comments are italicised, but stay bold/red.

This problem appears with both C and C++ syntax selected. Other syntax themes (including Atom dark) don't seem to be affected by the issue.

System: OS X 10.9.2 Mavericks (Build 13C64)
MacBook Air Haswell 11", 1.3GHz, 4GB Ram.

Description

It is hard to see if a line starts with a space or not because the background is plain white. Please change it (e.g. make the background of the line numbers light grey) so I can see if a line starts with a space or not.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Load Atom Light Syntax
2. Add a whitespace to a Line of code
3. Ask someone else if the line starts with a whitespace or not. He probably would not be able to see it.

Headers are highlighted but **bold** and *italic* text is not.

Atom-light-syntax 0.29.0 and Atom 1.18.0.

I don't know what plugin does what, but

• object literal properties are styled strangely
• and they are parsed very strangely indeed, with each character getting wrapped in a <span class="syntax--invalid syntax--illegal syntax--expected-dictionary-separator syntax--json">

Sorry @benogle, I was wrong about this in our hangout. It does actually seem to be a light-theme-specific issue.

You have the core package "atom-light-syntax" installed as a community package. See https://github.com/atom/dalek for how this causes problems and instructions on how to correct the situation.

The Atom Light Syntax theme uses font-weight: bold for keywords (see https://github.com/atom/atom-light-syntax/blob/master/index.less#L152). This breaks the vertical alignment of characters on subsequent lines (see screenshot below). This is not the case in the Atom Dark Syntax theme.
