Their should be a fundamental change in the way dependencies are handled.

Perhaps an Installer Class that takes Engine Objects, scans the engine objects for dependencies and then regenerates what needs to be installed. This way we can control the flow of how the dependencies are installed, prevent duplicates, etc.

That way you can just feed engines to the Installer and the installer can reorganize what needs to be installed.

Also perhaps instead of the depends being Strings we make them unbound Classes to prevent dependencies we can't handle.

It'd be nice, if we could make it to use the end extension to decide whether to do tar -xjvf (for .bz2) or tar -xzf (for gzip). Should be staightforward.
