It's possible to submit the form with empty fields. A blank name will break the confirmation thing (it just spins forever), but otherwise it will still go through.
Also, the border color on the "Draw:" box should match the others and be #999.
This looks a little unorganized to me...
Can we lose the icon and make the title conform to the "About this map" modal, i.e., much bigger (h2, I think)?
Let's try styling the hint text the same in the two input forms, so make "neighborhood name..." smaller, but then add a red asterisk to indicate it's required. Are there any other required fields here?
With the other two radio questions, can the layout of those be styled more closely? Let's try removing the shadow on the "type of neighborhood" box. And then adding a box around the "how confident are you" question. Maybe they should be the same color as the input boxes (#eee), but without border so they don't look clickable.
The naming form yells at me if I leave any other option blank, but not this one. Is that correct? And if so, assuming it defaults to neighborhood in this case, should that radio button be pre-selected?
Set the word definitions in all caps.
Set neighborhoods and super neighborhoods in bold.
Looks like this eventually obtains the radius, but only after a neighborhood has been added.
Including, "Name this neighborhood" and "Submit" and "Confirm". These should be like the "Draw a neighborhood" button, where there is no border, and the mouseover state is a color change to #ff423f.
Probably nobody's going to enter this stuff in names except for trolls, but even so, it doesn't display correctly in the "your submitted neighborhoods" thing if you do. (Because it's rendered as actual html.) It does, however, display correctly in the confirmation box that pops up after you submit.
We'd like to add a slide to the introduction of the crowd sourced boundary site, a slide before the definitions, that says the following and includes the attached diagram:
Welcome to the Draw Your Neighborhood map, a participatory map of the City of Dallas. Neighborhoods are the building blocks of a successful city and for us to build a strong city together, we need to start with knowing what all of our neighborhoods are! We think we've got a pretty good idea of what Dallas's neighborhoods are, but we need you to tell us what we got right, what we got wrong, and what we missed. Participating is easy!
For more information on the crowd coursed neighborhood map, click here. Otherwise, click "next" to learn a little more about drawing the neighborhood boundaries. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and love for Dallas!
Can we go with an underline on mouseover?
There are two instances where "neighborhood's" possessive is incorrectly used in the second paragraph.
Try submitting a neighborhood named: "Joe's Creek-Walnut Garden"
The submission fails because the name hasn't been properly escaped / encoded.
This will need to set a value on a hidden field that gets sent to the server
These should have no border color. (Currently, it looks to be white, I think). The mouseover should be the change in opacity only.
If you are typing a name in the Name the Neighborhood modal and the autocomplete comes up, the keyboard movement of the map should be disabled.
